How to become a member of the Kirby Baptist Church family is an excellent question that is among the most frequently asked questions that we hear!
The most direct way is to attend a worship service as soon as possible. You will discover that it is our custom to sing a hymn at the close of every worship service. This part of our service is called "The Invitation", during which you are invited to make your way to the front while the congregation sings where you will be greeted by the Pastor who will privately ask about your reason(s) for responding. You will be able to say in your own words how you've been led by God's Spirit to take any of the following steps:
To make a public profession of faith in Christ as Savior, looking forward to baptism and church membership.
To ask for church membership:
By letter of transfer from another Southern Baptist Church of like faith and order. You do NOT need to have your "letter" in hand. Our church clerk will secure it after you have presented yourself for membership.
By a statement of prior conversion experience and baptism by immersion for the purpose of testimony, when no letter is obtainable.
By baptism if you are transferring from a church of another denomination that doesn't practice immersion.
