In the past couple of years, TechCrunch has grown from a not-so-humble tech blog to a media empire, complete with spin-off brands, events, and heady (but speculative) valuations. Why not get into hardware manufacturing too? It remains to be seen whether all the extra heft will add to the actual blog's appeal or sink it entirely, but so far, it looks like the former. 		169
